Urban exploration in Montignies-sur-Sambre (MsS, zip code 6061) in Charleroi, Belgium, around river Sambre, the railroad, the underspass under the never-ever-used metro line, concrete bridges, the abandoned BAM brewery, the Saint-Remy’s church,…
Maybe it’s a bit unfair to focus on the decaying areas of the city, when Charleroi is now often portayed as a city being reborn. On the other hand, among the 14 boroughs of Charleroi, Montignies-sur-Sambre is not the worst one (competition is fierce).
Oddly enough, Saint-Rémy’s church (pictured below, behind the white truck) shelters the relics of Saint Valentine. Love is everywhere. Yeah.
Thats the real old black and white Charleroi as i know it from the 80s …well done !
Kind regards, Jürgen

This old metro station is so 80s, indeed.
A whole line built and maintained for 30 years and never used! We’re in safe hands😒
